Playing with Time - Prompt and Response Game

I thought it would be fun to have a collaborative/play thread similar to our Trick or Treat haiku events.

Ways to participate:

1. Start a thread in the comments with a prompt thematically related to time and our perception of it.


2. Write a short poem in response to a prompt.

Prompts can be anything related to time or the perception of time (including cliches, proverbs, and puns).

Poems should be no longer than 10 lines, and may be any format that fits within that line limit (e.g. blank verse, haiku, haikai, limericks, etherees).

Feel free to provide multiple prompts and to respond to others poetic answers. Answers may be as serious or silly as you wish. The goal is to get creativity flowing and have fun.

If perception of time is linked to size, what would the passage of time be like from the point of view of an elephant? Do humans move to elephants the way flies move to humans? Can elephants even see flies when flies are in motion? ooo the possibilities

Depending on whether I'm talking as a geologist or a chemist, "fast" can mean anywhere between "under five million years" and "under a nanosecond".

(In fact, depending on what kind of geologist I'm talking as, it can be pretty much that same range, heh...)

They say time flies when having fun
and crawls when having none.
I think it's simply that when one
can have one's time in sun,
one doesn't notice passing time
until the clock bells chime.
When bored, what else is there to do
than count the tick-tick to
the time of boredom's ceasing, when
the time will fly again?
