Sunday, every Sunday, let's have a community picnic. It's probably been a long week, and it's lovely to have a few minutes to sit back and relax and enjoy some good conversation in a less formal space. Feel free to bring something for the Picnic Basket - a poem you liked this week, a thought you had or something you experienced, or even something completely unrelated to poetry whatsoever that you just feel like sharing. Just take a moment to say hello, and maybe have a bite to eat; no one is going anywhere fast, and the shade promises some relief from the everyday heat. Let’s get to know each other a bit better, here under the branches of the poet’s tree.

Hullo! 7x20 published a micropoem by me, and Moment published a review of my book. The links are at the end of a longer post on Yom Kippur:

I finally got around to posting "Kiss the Flame", the poem I wrote for [personal profile] ashestosnow for winning Poetree Challenge # 13.

I wrote a bref double. Because my friend shadowsong knows how to tempt me.

While this may not be very useful feedback, I just wanted to say that while sonnets are not my area of expertise or interest, I really appreciated the amount of effort [personal profile] lnhammer put into hosting this past week. I did not have enough of use to say to reply to the posts, but I greatly enjoyed reading them, and thought it was wonderful how audience engagement was encouraged by the prompting questions at the end of each post. Really well done overall; thank you.

I second all of this; [personal profile] lnhammer was particularly good about responding to comments and promoting engagement.

I have not had a chance to comment on each post due to the head cold that I developed earlier this week. But I wanted to thank [personal profile] lnhammer for doing such an amazing job in exploring sonnets. It was a fascinating and rich week and I will have to go back and re-read many of the entries so that I can savor them more. Thank you for the amazing amount of work that you put into this week. It was very much appreciated.

My next Poetry Fishbowl will be on Tuesday, October 2 with a theme of "Horror: Demons." Come give me prompts!

Also I'm experimenting with bingo fests now. [community profile] cottoncandy_bingo, [community profile] hc_bingo, and [community profile] kink_bingo all have different themes but accept any fandom or original material and poetry is an acceptable medium. So if you want inspiration, pick one and request a card. I've already done one card for [community profile] cottoncandy_bingo. I've got a second card for that now, plus first cards for the other two fests.

Good to know! I'll put a small admin blurb here on the comm when your Fishbowl opens. Also, welcome back - we've missed you these last few weeks.

Thanks everso! Ping me when you do, it'll reveal a verse of the linkback poem.

Summer is my busy season, writing for the Llewellyn annuals. I'm seriously behind because our internet connection has been fizzling out for about a month, which also undercuts my online activity. Later in the month things should get better.
