Sunday Picnic Puts Itself Back In the Narrative

Sunday, every Sunday, let's have a community picnic. It's probably been a long week, and it's lovely to have a few minutes to sit back and relax and enjoy some good conversation in a less formal space. Feel free to bring something for the Picnic Basket - a poem you liked this week, a thought you had or something you experienced, or even something completely unrelated to poetry whatsoever that you just feel like sharing. Just take a moment to say hello, and maybe have a bite to eat; no one is going anywhere fast, and the shade promises some relief from the everyday heat. Let’s get to know each other a bit better, here under the branches of the poet’s tree.

No link (no point, the post's two lines long), but: I am getting two poems published in the fall 2015 Prism! This is Oregon State University's literary magazine, and it's a non-paying market but it's still very exciting.

They're not submission worthy yet (or indeed, in a state in which I quite want to show them to anyone yet), but I managed some work on two poems for a sonnet sequence which I'd left lying dormant for a while

I haven't written any poetry lately, but once I finish reading the books and magazines in my wish list on another website I'm going to download and read some books of poetry among other things. Actually awhile back I did read a book of Maya Angelou's poetry and loved it.
