Some things to consider if you're hesitating:
- There's no penalty for dropping out if you need to (this is what pinch-hitters are for), so what do you have to lose if you sign up and see how far you can get by the June 22nd check in?
- The sheer diversity of Yuletide fandoms reminds us that just about anything can be used as inspiration for a transformative work. From television commercials to YouTube videos, from badass women in history to anthropomorphized academia, your imagination's the primary limit.
- If you find that 1k+ word count intimidating regardless of whether you approach it as one poem or many, why work alone? Comment on this post to find one or more collaborators to write poetry with for the challenge. You can divide the word count and multiply your fun.
