[personal profile] jjhunter posting in [community profile] poetree
As we venture forth into December, let's take a moment to remember the bounty of November. We still have a post or two forthcoming this weekend from our current poetry host [personal profile] lynnoconnacht (Lynn Einín O'Connacht); please join me in thanking zem and our other poetry hosts this month, [personal profile] aldersprig (Lyn) and [livejournal.com profile] stryck (Anna Waite), for their hard work. We also had a delightful (and occasionally NSFW) non-hosted week where various members shared limericks, haiku, and teasers for others' work.

Non-Hosted Week: Call For Anonymous Poetry

I have some wonderful hosts lined up starting mid-December through mid-January, but I'm always looking for more! Please do let me know if you know (or know of) someone you think might be interested in hosting or whose work (or taste) you particularly admire. Also if you've hosted before and are interested in doing so again, please leave a comment on the sign-up post.

I'm also thinking of having a non-hosted week every month, regardless of whether there are a plethora of potential hosts or not, where members share pieces (their own, others', etc.) related to a particular theme. Potential themes include poetry complements (e.g. illustrations for poetry, poetry set to music, etc.); particular formats (e.g. a week of just villanelles, a week of rare or unusual formats, a week of poetry in non-English languages with translations by [community profile] poetree members, etc.); and genre poetry. The field will also be open for anyone to pose questions to the audience related to the theme. Have an idea for a particular theme? Comment here and let me know.
