"I Too Am A Slave" is a fiercely beautiful poem about the internal conflict of inheriting a name from a slave-owner. It digs deep into the identity, not just of black Americans, but all Americans. I read black poetry for gems like this. Though listed as unpublished, it's published on his blog, so seems like a good fit for this community.
