Poet of the Day: Hart Crane
Sep. 20th, 2012 01:41 pmHart Crane (1899-1932) was born in Ohio and eventually moved to New York. He lived in Brooklyn, where he had an excellent view of the Brooklyn Bridge, and later learned that one of the bridge's designers had lived at the same address.
"To Brooklyn Bridge" begins his long poem, The Bridge. This is the first poem that, just by its sound alone, resonated with me in spite of me not really grasping the message.
