Sunday, every Sunday, let's have a community picnic. It's probably been a long week, and it's lovely to have a few minutes to sit back and relax and enjoy some good conversation in a less formal space. Feel free to bring something for the Picnic Basket - a poem you liked this week, a thought you had or something you experienced, or even something completely unrelated to poetry whatsoever that you just feel like sharing. Just take a moment to say hello, and maybe have a bite to eat; no one is going anywhere fast, and the shade promises some relief from the everyday heat. Let’s get to know each other a bit better, here under the branches of the poet’s tree.

So we have been asking community members (usually the previous week's winner) if they want to judge the upcoming writer's challenge. So far this has been done on a week by week basis, but it occurs to me it might be easier to just have a list of those interested in being volunteer judges and what week would be best for them (similar to how we handle hosting).

Requirements for being a judge on one of the weekly writer's challenges are minimal. You must let us know you are interested. That's about it. :) We set the deadline for the weekly challenge at 11:59 Eastern Standard (or Daylight--depending on time of year) Time so that our judge has all day Saturday to read through the entries and pick a winner. You send us the name of your chosen winner via private message. We announce the winner Sunday with the next challenge.

If you are interested in being a judge, please comment below. Questions and concerns are also welcome either via comment to this post or a private message to myself ([personal profile] alee_grrl) or [personal profile] jjhunter.

Thanks!
