Sunday, every Sunday, let's have a community picnic. It's probably been a long week, and it's lovely to have a few minutes to sit back and relax and enjoy some good conversation in a less formal space. Feel free to bring something for the Picnic Basket - a poem you liked this week, a thought you had or something you experienced, or even something completely unrelated to poetry whatsoever that you just feel like sharing. Just take a moment to say hello, and maybe have a bite to eat; no one is going anywhere fast, and the shade promises some relief from the everyday heat. Let’s get to know each other a bit better, here under the branches of the poet’s tree.

Hello and general chatter

It has been a while my friends, and I don't have any poetry to share at the moment. But I did want to offer a quick hello. I've missed participating in this community this semester and look forward to having time and energy enough to return. I have one more final to go before I am done with this semester. Then I'll be resettling down in Virginia for my summer and fall internships. Should have more time to pick up my duties here and spend more time with this lovely community.

Hej there! It's technically Monday where I am, so I hope this is still okay (oh, late picnics!).

I'm also new! Nothing to share at the moment (*shyly hides*) since I'm still just poking around.

Conversation starter- is anyone using 750Words or something similar? It's been an immense help in my writing in general.

You are not too late to reply. We realize that lots of people here are in other places of the world, and so it might not be Sunday for them. The wonderful thing about posts and comment threads is that conversations can continue for as long as we like, and the Sunday Picnic post is meant to be a place for general sharing and conversation since our regular posting schedule tends to be restricted to topic. We've been on a bit of a hiatus but will be coming back to full service on May, 19th.

I'm not familiar with 750Words, is it a prompt community? I know that several others use prompt communities and enjoy them. I will have to look into them. :)

No, 750 Words is a Website where you can write, https://750words.com/ . What differs it from blogging sites is that it's all private. And your goal is to write 750+ words a day. It's helped me immensely.

Neat - I'm doing something similar myself with the DW comm inkingitout, except instead of doing a min. word per day I'm doing a min. number of poems per day.

Also, hello and welcome! (Or should that be 'welcome & well come'?) I'm J.J., the other comm admin. Things are a little quiet around here at the moment since we've been on hiatus for awhile, but you picked a good month to get active - we'll start doing weekly content again in about two weeks. :o)
