New Co-Mod for POETREE: [personal profile] alee_grrl

I'm briefly interrupting Dave's excellent series of posts this week to bring you all some wonderful news: long-time community member [personal profile] alee_grrl is joining me as co-mod for POETREE! Manda has been pitching in to help out a great deal around the comm, especially during these last few weeks, so this is merely formalizing a role she's already taken on. Between the two of us we should be able to keep things running much more smoothly in the future.

Although we are not currently looking for any more co-mods, there are still plenty of ways to help out around the comm if you're interested in becoming more involved - in particular I'm hoping to find someone who keeps abreast of poetry news outside of Dreamwidth who can contribute tidbits to the weekly roundups. Other possible roles involve making a point of regularly bringing up additional points or questions for discussion in the comment threads; helping recruit more Poetry Hosts; and/or organizing a multi-Hosted themed week (e.g. the Poetry Complements week)*. If you volunteer regularly in such ways there's a good chance we'll ask you to join the admin team next time we expand.

For more information about Manda, please visit her personal journal here on Dreamwidth ([personal profile] alee_grrl) or see her Introduction Post for the week she Hosted here at POETREE back in December.

* If you have an idea for such and/or are interested in taking the lead on implementing one, please contact [personal profile] alee_grrl or I and let us know! We have a themed week slot coming up the week of February 27th and are open to ideas.

I'm happy to hear this. Groups do better when people spread the word around.

Does anyone else want to do something for Poetry Month in April? I'm planning to encourage folks to try their hand at crowdfunded poetry, and I'm talking with someone who is organizing poetry related blog tour activities for April.

I would love to do something for poetry month in April, but haven't given much thought about what I will do. Hmm...must start thinking about this. :)
