Sunday Picnic under the fir tree

alee_grrl

Sunday, every Sunday, let's have a community picnic. It's probably been a long week, and it's lovely to have a few minutes to sit back and relax and enjoy some good conversation in a less formal space. Feel free to bring something for the Picnic Basket - a poem you liked this week, a thought you had or something you experienced, or even something completely unrelated to poetry whatsoever that you just feel like sharing. Just take a moment to say hello, and maybe have a bite to eat; no one is going anywhere fast, and the shade promises some relief from the everyday heat. Let’s get to know each other a bit better, here under the branches of the poet’s tree.

I posted a recording of me reading my poem "Skyfall." Text of the poem can be found here.

I posted Coastline by Elaine Feinstein after someone noted I hadn't included any of her work with my previous short review:

I posted a brief review (not good) of The Lost Notebook, by Jennie Feldman:

During November I had set myself a target of writing a poem every day. I didn't achieve this but I did write over 40 poems during the month. \o/

I claimed a [community profile] darkfantasybingo card. I also made some suggestions about size of poetry fills to the fest moderators.

"Take These Wings" by [personal profile] catsittingstill now has lyrics with musical notation, and MP3. This was inspired by my Fledgling Grace poetry series.

My poem "LOL_ALIENS" just got nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

John W. Sexton also writes speculative serial poetry. Cool.

My next Poetry Fishbowl is on Tuesday, Dec. 4 with a theme of "games and toys." Come give me prompts and enjoy the free poetry.
