Sunday Picnic starts June off right

Sunday, every Sunday, let's have a community picnic. It's probably been a long week, and it's lovely to have a few minutes to sit back and relax and enjoy some good conversation in a less formal space. Feel free to bring something for the Picnic Basket - a poem you liked this week, a thought you had or something you experienced, or even something completely unrelated to poetry whatsoever that you just feel like sharing. Just take a moment to say hello, and maybe have a bite to eat; no one is going anywhere fast, and the shade promises some relief from the everyday heat. Let’s get to know each other a bit better, here under the branches of the poet’s tree.

Congratulations are due to primeideal, whose delightful poem The Story of Jarry LeBleu won our 'Write a poem in the style of Dr. Seuss' community challenge.

There once was a Froozle named Jarry LeBleu
Who paced through the town, to and fro, fro and to.
His socks were well-worn, and they fit on his feet
So Jarry tried hard to like walking the street.

Next week is currently an open slot on the Community Calendar; if you are interested in hosting, please leave a comment at the current signup post. The week after has been claimed by cadenzamuse, who will be hosting a week on Atlanta slam poets.

The signup for the next community week will go up later today; the organizer for this one is alee_grrl, and theme is 'Emotional Intimacy'.
